Bell peppers/ sweet peppers belong to the nightshade (Solanaceae) family of plants, along with tomatoes. Bell peppers are low in calories and loaded with nutrients. They are a great source of vitamin A, C potassium, fibre and folic acid. They are harvested when green and turn, yellow, orange or red when ripe.
